1. Information we collect

Anonymous device identifier

Mixed Signals does not require an account, an email address, or a password. On first launch, the App creates an anonymous identifier so it can store your data on our backend. This identifier is a randomly generated value tied to your installation of the App; we do not link it to your real-world identity. Reinstalling the App or clearing your data generates a new identifier and makes the prior data unreachable on your device.

Conversation recordings (frames only)

To analyze a conversation, the App extracts still frames (approximately one per second) from the screen recording you select on your device. These frames are uploaded to our storage provider (Supabase) for analysis. The original video file never leaves your device.

Relationship context you provide

Before analysis, you may answer a short questionnaire about the conversation: the genders and approximate ages of participants, the relationship status, how long you’ve known each other, the platform the conversation took place on, and optional goals. This is used only to tailor the analysis.

Analysis results

The structured output of the AI analysis (vibe score, red flags, positive signals, advice, and communication feedback) is stored in your account so you can revisit it.

Subscription information

If you purchase a subscription, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) records your subscriber identifier, the products you’ve purchased, and your entitlement status. Apple processes the actual payment; we do not see or store your payment card details.

Profile preferences

If you set profile preferences in the App (for example, default context for analyses), we store them in your account and on your device.

Device and log information

Our backend providers automatically record standard server logs that may include IP address, request timestamps, and basic device information. These logs are used to operate, secure, and debug the service.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide the core service: extracting frames, running the AI analysis, and showing you the result.
  • Save your analyses and preferences on the device so you can return to them.
  • Manage and verify your subscription entitlement (via Apple and RevenueCat).
  • Respond to support requests you send us by email.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models for purposes unrelated to providing your analysis result.

3. AI processing & data sharing

The core feature of Mixed Signals — generating a vibe score and structured insights — is powered by a third-party AI model. We want to be specific about what is sent, to whom, and on what terms.

Who processes your data

We use Google LLC's Gemini API (the "Gemini API") as our AI processing provider. When you submit a video for analysis, the following data is sent from our backend to Google's Gemini API:

  • The still frames (approximately one per second) extracted from the video you selected.
  • The relationship context you entered in the in-app questionnaire (your gender and age, the other participant's gender and age, relationship status, duration, platform, and any optional goals or notes you provided).

Your original video file, audio, contacts, location, name, email address, and Apple ID are not sent to Google.

How Google uses the data

Google processes this data solely to return the analysis result to us. Per Google's Gemini API Additional Terms of Service, data submitted to the paid Gemini API is not used to train Google's models, and is retained only for a limited period to provide and improve the service. Google's general privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy. Google offers data protection commitments that we believe are equivalent to or stronger than those described in this Privacy Policy.

Your consent

Before each analysis, the App asks you to explicitly confirm that you understand and agree that the frames and context above will be sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. You may decline; if you do, no data is sent and no analysis is generated. You can also clear your consent and all stored data at any time using Settings → Clear My Data.

Other AI providers

From time to time we may add or substitute additional AI processing providers (for example, Anthropic's Claude or OpenAI's models) to improve analysis quality, reliability, or cost. When we do, we will:

  • update this Privacy Policy to identify the new provider before activating it;
  • ensure the provider offers data protection commitments equivalent to those described here; and
  • reflect the change in the in-app disclosure surfaced before each analysis.

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following processors. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and storage of frames, analyses, and account data. supabase.com/privacy
  • Google (Gemini API) — AI model that generates the analysis from your frames and context. policies.google.com/privacy
  • RevenueCat — subscription state and entitlement management. revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Apple — App Store distribution and in-app subscription billing. apple.com/legal/privacy

5. Data retention & deletion

We retain your analyses and uploaded frames until you clear your data or request deletion. You can clear your data at any time from Settings → Clear My Data in the App. This removes your anonymous record, profile, analyses, and uploaded frames from our database and storage, and creates a new anonymous identifier on your device.

Backups and standard server logs may retain residual copies for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) before being overwritten.

Because the App is anonymous, we cannot identify your data without information you provide (for example, the anonymous identifier visible in the App). If you contact us by email asking us to delete your data, we may ask you to use the in-app option instead, or to share your identifier so we can locate the right records.

6. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Export a copy of your data.

Because the App is anonymous, the most reliable way to exercise these rights is in-app: Settings → Clear My Data deletes your data, and your analyses are visible directly in the App. You may also email contact@rnkdapp.com; we may need additional information (such as the anonymous identifier shown in the App) to locate your records.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information: encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage at rest with our cloud providers, and access controls limiting which systems and people can read your data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Mixed Signals is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us at contact@rnkdapp.com and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email.
